EARTH, SPELLED BY EARTH
To celebrate Earth Day in a truly grounded way, we turned to the planet itself — spelling out “Google” using real satellite imagery of natural formations that echo the shape of each letter. Volcanoes, islands, lakes, forests, deserts — every element represents not just a letter, but a reminder of what Earth is made of. By using Earth’s own features to celebrate Earth, the design becomes a tribute to its raw beauty, fragility, and interconnectedness.
As a team, we scoured the planet through satellite data, exploring hundreds of landscapes in search of naturally occurring shapes that resemble each letterform. It was a creative expedition across continents — one that highlighted not only the diversity of Earth’s terrain, but also its accidental poetry.
This concept invites viewers to see the familiar in the natural, encouraging reflection on the wonder and responsibility we share in protecting our planet. Every shape tells a story. Every contour has meaning.
